Step back in time by visiting the 1894 one-room Wooster Common School No. 38 and the 1910 Brown-McKay Farmhouse. BHPA has some of the most outstanding and enthusiastic volunteers who serve as docents for Wooster School and the Brown-McKay Farmhouse.
All third-grade students in Goose Creek CISD tour these two structures as part of their social studies curriculum as well as children from other schools. Wooster School is the oldest one-room schoolhouse in Harris County, Texas. Later this summer, we will be adding an interpretive barn to our heritage park.
Our historic buildings are open to the public, free of charge, on the last Saturday of each month (except holiday weekends and in inclement weather) from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Group tours can be arranged at other times by calling 281.421.2099 or by email at BHPA@BaytownHistory.org.
